- Indonesian President Soekarno gave Dollah Don a nickname, 'Harimau Malaya' after his team came from 3-0 down at half-time to earn a draw with an Indonesian team (Peseja/Persija Jakarta) with all three goals scored by Dollah Don in a match in Jakarta in 1953

TRIVIA:
- His talent was discovered by Dol Fatah (Dolfattah or Abdul Fatteh bin Abdullah), a Singapore football team coach
- Angry spectators in Medan, Indonesia had staged a protest because Dollah Don was sick and withdrew from a friendly game in 1946
